Optometrist
Dr. Garibay has been caring for the Polk County community since 2017, combining his clinical expertise with a genuine heart for people. Originally from Tampa, he earned his Biology degree from the University of Florida before completing his Doctor of Optometry at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis. His passion for eye care began early, after volunteering on mission trips to Haiti in high school and seeing how life-changing it can be to help someone see clearly again.
That same sense of purpose continues to guide his work today. Dr. Garibay is especially passionate about specialty contact lenses, helping patients with keratoconus and other complex vision conditions regain clear, comfortable sight. After being diagnosed with keratoconus himself, he developed an even deeper understanding of what his patients experience. He also provides Myopia Management for children, helping families protect their kids’ vision and set them up for long-term success.
Outside the office, Dr. Garibay’s world revolves around his wife, Beka, a Polk County native, and their two young daughters, Margot and Ellie. They love spending time with their extended family, traveling together, and visiting Disney whenever they can. The Garibays are active in their church community at Lakes Church, where they attend a small group and stay connected locally.
When he’s not with his family, Dr. Garibay enjoys cycling and is currently training for the Horrible Hundred in Clermont. He finds that time on the bike helps him recharge and stay focused, much like the perspective he brings to patient care: steady, intentional, and centered on growth.
At Swan City Eye Care, Dr. Garibay’s goal is simple: to bring back the kind of personal connection that’s often missing in healthcare. He wants every patient to feel cared for, seen, and heard, and to leave knowing they were treated like family.
